Otto Pavilion

This project posed a unique problem requiring a unique solution. The client bought a neighbouring property and had a pristine garden designed and implemented by Danie Steenkamp of DDS Projects. With the added property they gained access from another street and therefore needed cover for their vehicles without compromising the beauty of their garden.

A conservatory-like pavilion was designed to sit lightly in the garden on a track, so that it can be moved depending on its required location. With the help of structural engineer Brendan Botha and TGS Concept's craftmanship, a complex steel structure, braced and cladded with hardwood timber, was designed to achieve the required span and provide warmth and elegance to complement the garden.
